On Jan. 13, 2019, he asked an associate to dig through “past photos and emails” to establish when they had met Gates “at the airport in [Washington] DC” — an apparent reference to a meeting between Epstein and Gates at Reagan National that DOJ documents show Nikolic had helped arrange in December 2013. The same day Epstein sent the email, Epstein emailed Gates, referencing the meeting and noting that Cohen claimed to have “no recollection” of Gates’ “request” at the time. “Odd,” he wrote.
